What is Ahrefs?
Ahrefs runs its own web crawler — one of the largest after Google's — to map which sites link to whom. That backlink index is what it is genuinely best known for, and what competitors struggle to match.
What you actually get: Site Explorer for any domain's backlinks and top pages, Keywords Explorer with volume and difficulty, Site Audit for technical issues, Content Gap to find what competitors rank for and you do not, and rank tracking.
The honest caveat: pricing starts around $129/month and climbs quickly with credits and seats. For a small site or a solo creator that is hard to justify — Google Search Console gives you your own real data for free, and it is the better starting point. Ahrefs earns its cost when you need data about sites you do not own: competitor research, link prospecting and client work.
Interface is English only.
